Grandparents Plus launch an advice service for grandparents, family or friends

Grandparents Plus is the national charity which champions the vital role of grandparents and the wider family in children’s lives – especially when they take on the caring role in difficult family circumstances.

They have launched an advice service for grandparents and other family members or friends who have stepped in to care for a child who is not their own.

They offer advice and information on a broad range of areas including welfare benefits, legal orders, social care, housing, education, debt, employment and pensions.

There are around 200,000 family and friends carers in the UK looking after around 300,000 children because their parents are no longer able to fulfil that role. We hope that you will be able to pass details of our advice service to constituents in this situation who approach you for help.
