Supporting Home Wise and the recycling of mobility aids in Accrington Arndale Centre

I am supporting a new campaign by Home Wise, which has begun recycling mobility aids in Accrington Arndale Centre. Most of the equipment that is donated can be recycled and put back into the community, but before this project was launched, the equipment was going into landfill.

They recycle small aids that are no longer needed, in order to give people who have to pay for their equipment a choice of purchasing reconditioned items. All items are cleaned and checked before being sold at a fraction of the cost of a new item. As the organization is a not-for-profit, all proceeds are used to fund the services provided by Home Wise.

There are many people living in the Borough who are in need of daily living aids but who no longer qualify for free equipment. This service allows for the redistribution of a wide range of affordable mobility equipment to people with disabilities who are most in need.

All of the staff at Home Wise are trained Trusted Assessors and can therefore offer the best advice in order for the person to make an informed choice about the most suitable equipment for their needs.
