Nick Clegg’s broken promises

Time and again Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems have gone along with the Tories - putting the interests of a privileged few before those of ordinary hardworking families - despite the promises they made in 2010.

You can’t trust a word that Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats say. They are breaking all their promises and have been too weak to stand up to David Cameron.

They promised to scrap tuition fees and then trebled them. They promised not to increase VAT, even warning us against a “Tory VAT bombshell”, but then voted through a VAT rise on hardworking families. They promised a fair tax system with the wealthiest paying more but have cut taxes for millionaires - paid for by millions of hardworking families. They promised to be on the side of working people but hardworking people are £1,600 worse off since they joined the Tories in government.

The Liberal Democrats say they are holding David Cameron back but Nick Clegg has been weak and backed the Tories all the way.

They might want to distance themselves from their record in Government. But with so many broken promises, it will be difficult for ordinary hardworking families to forgive and forget.
