The free to download pack - 'Fight the freeze: a guide to winter warmth' - includes tips on how to keep yourself and your home warm over the cold winter months, which is of course is particularly important for vulnerable groups such as the frail or elderly.
As well as including useful home maintenance/awareness advice, such as how to find a property's stop tap and how to lag pipes in order to avoid troublesome a bursts, the pack also includes broader advice regarding winter wellbeing, such as where to access financial support with heating bills, where to look for warming nutritious recipes, and who to turn to with concerns for loved ones or neighbours who might be vulnerable to colder conditions.
In particular the guide includes details of a charity - Contact the Elderly - that is very active in the North West and helps ensure older people don't feel isolated at this time of year.
